Vermilion County's Toddling into Nature camps set this week
DANVILLE – The Vermilion County Conservation District will offer Toddling into Nature programs for children ages 3, 4 and 5 at Kennekuk County Park.
The programs will include songs, activities, games and more. Parents, grandparents or guardians will also be participants in the camp designed to connect younger children to the outdoor world.
Camps are at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and last approximately one hour. Toddlers may be signed up for one or more camps.
The camps are:
– Today: "Feed the Birds." This program teaches children why some birds migrate while others stay in Illinois. Participants will make creative food items for birds that can be placed in the backyard.
– Thursday: "Oh, Deer, It's Cold Outside." This program covers how common Illinois animals, such as the white tail deer, survive the winer months.
Fee for each date is $5. Registration is required. Call Lara Darling between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays to register at 442-1691.
