'Flying Solo Together' event set for Saturday in Mahomet
MAHOMET – A storyteller and a visual artist will team up to present a program called "Flying Solo Together" on Saturday at the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse in Mahomet.
The artist, Cindy Carlson, will present an exhibition of her watercolors from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 7:15 p.m. when there will be an artist's reception, with wine and light snacks. People will receive a 10 percent discount on her original paintings and may register to win a glicee print.
The storyteller, Camille Born, will present an Afternoon Family Storytelling Concert from 3 to 3:30 p.m. Admission is $5 per family. Born also will present an evening storytelling concert for adults, "Motherhood, Medicine and Mayhem," from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets for that are $10 per person and include one free drink and light snacks. There also will be a cash bar.

To reach the clubhouse from Interstate 74, take the Prairieview exit. Go north on Prairieview Road and turn left on Tincup Road and then right on Lake of the Woods Road. Go left at the golf course entrance. From Interstate 72, take the Mahomet/Route 47 exit and go north for 5 miles on 47. Take a right at the stoplight at Oak Street and then go left on Lake of the Woods Road and then left at the golf course entrance.
