GIBSON CITY – There could be a plan to add four to six classrooms to the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Elementary School in the near future. School board members hope to fund the possible $1 million to $1.4 million construction cost with options that won't require a tax increase.

Board President Greg Kerber pointed out that putting an advisory question before voters will need to be decided at the board's next meeting Dec. 15, because of a January deadline for the April 5, 2009, election. Regardless of the ballot question, board members agreed they would hold public meetings to explain their plans.
