Detective resigns from Champaign force after DUI
CHAMPAIGN – A Champaign police officer who pleaded guilty to drunken driving resigned from her job Tuesday morning.
Champaign Police Chief R.T. Finney said Lisa Staples, 39, appeared with her union attorney at the department to hand in her resignation, effective at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
