Voter ID rules need to be clarified
Tom Kacich wrote Nov. 9 that voter turnout in all 10 student precincts was lower in this presidential election than in 2004. Perhaps that's because this time, so many registered voters were turned away from the polls in those precincts.
The law requires anyone who registered to vote using motor-voter to vote in person the first time, providing proof of address and identity at that time. If one was registered to vote by a deputy county clerk, or has voted at least once before, ID is not required.
