Visit to fire service institute impressive
I recently took my kids and grandkids to the open house sponsored by the University of Illinois Fire Service Institute. I have got to say I was totally impressed.
I learned that the institute is responsible for training firefighters from all over the country and the world – not just Illinois. They not only do the training here, they do it with excellence. They have many buildings, props and settings that simulate the very conditions firefighters will face in their jobs. This training not only helps firefighters learn to do their job properly, helping to keep themselves safe, but it also provides the experience they need to save lives on the job.
