All should pay fair share for health care
As this country investigates how to provide health coverage for everyone, it becomes clearer the plan is that those of who work diligently to provide for ourselves and our families will pay even more. The first group to receive help should be the working poor who work hard to support themselves but just can't find the money for health coverage.
Many of us who have health coverage have it because we made decisions early in life to assure that we have benefits that reduce our dependence on others, often by taking a job providing benefits such as health insurance over a job that may have provided a higher salary or more prestige. We pay, even after retirement, insurance premiums, co-pays and deductibles. We chose security over vacations, designer apparel, new car or bigger house, or more children than we can provide for. Those are the right choices.
