Driver not injured when train hits truck at Thomasboro elevator

Thomasboro firefighter Yancy Burke prepares to spray down a pickup truck that was hit at the the crossing north of the Thomasboro elevator and pushed down to he elevator in Thomasboro on Wednesday,August 27,2008 about 11 a.m.. The driver of the truck, Ron Hamilton of Rantoul, said the truck died on the crossing, he saw the train coming and got out of the truck, He had been out picking up cans. The train was disengaged from the truck by backing up.

THOMASBORO – A pickup truck driver escaped without injury as a train hit his truck on the tracks by the Thomasboro grain elevator Wednesday morning.
