About the Tournament
After more than two months of highly competitive regular-season play, the 58th annual Champaign-Urbana Kiwanis Little League tournament began Monday, June 26, 206 at several parks throughout the area. The tournament's first-round games were played on the 26th and 27th with the second-round taking place on June 29.
The tournament then took five days off for the Fourth of July holiday before resuming with the quarterfinals on July 5 and the semifinals the following day on July 6. Each game ultimately led to championship game, which was held at 6 p.m. on July 8 at Zahnd Park.
In the championship game, Western League foes Meijer and Busey Bank battled back and forth before Meijer finally pulled away for a 13-9 win.

If you'd like a CD copy of the WDWS Radio play-by-play of the third place or title games, you can either postal mail your information and payment or stop by the WDWS Radio Center, 2301 S. Neil, Champaign, on Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Cost for the CD is $15 per game.
